Here is the short answer we give clients who ask: for most small businesses in the UAE, start with Zoho. At the plan tiers a five-person company actually uses, it costs roughly a quarter of what HubSpot does, its WhatsApp integration is built in rather than locked inside a second product, and since early 2026 it can host your data in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. HubSpot wins in one specific case: your growth runs on inbound marketing, someone on your team works in the tool every day, and you can afford the Professional tier, because that is where HubSpot's real features live.
We set up both platforms for clients through our CRM and automation practice, so we earn nothing by steering you either way. This is the comparison we walk people through on a first call, with numbers current as of mid-2026.
What Zoho and HubSpot cost a small UAE business
Zoho CRM's paid plans run from $14 per user per month on the Standard plan to $40 on Enterprise, billed annually, per Zoho's published price list. In dirhams, that is roughly AED 51 to AED 147 per user. Professional, the plan most small teams settle on, is $23, call it AED 85. There is a free edition for up to three users, and Zoho supports billing in AED, which your accountant will appreciate at VAT time.
HubSpot looks comparable at the entry level. It is not. Sales Hub Starter costs $15 to $20 per seat per month, which sounds friendly until you notice what Starter leaves out: automated sequences, workflow automation and custom reporting all sit in the Professional tier, which runs about $100 per seat per month on annual billing plus a mandatory $1,500 onboarding fee in the first year. That onboarding fee alone is around AED 5,500, paid before your team sends its first email.
Do the annual math for a five-person sales team. Zoho Professional: about AED 5,100 a year. HubSpot Sales Hub Professional: about AED 22,000 in licences, plus the onboarding fee on top in year one. For most companies, that gap is the whole comparison. If HubSpot's extra polish will not visibly change your revenue, you are paying a premium for comfort.
Two fair points in HubSpot's favour before we move on. Its free CRM, two seats and 1,000 contacts, is the best zero-cost starting point on the market, and if all you need is a shared contact list with deal stages, it may carry you for a year. And its pricing is at least transparent. With Zoho, the licence is cheap but a proper setup usually involves paid partner time, which the pricing page never mentions.
Which one handles WhatsApp better?
In this market the first enquiry arrives on WhatsApp, not email, and a CRM that treats WhatsApp as an afterthought quietly leaks leads. Zoho CRM connects to the WhatsApp Business API from inside the CRM itself: two-way conversations logged on the contact record, message templates, chats assigned to specific salespeople, and workflows that fire off the back of a message.
HubSpot also has a native WhatsApp integration, but it lives in the shared inbox of Service Hub Professional and Enterprise. If you bought Sales Hub, adding WhatsApp means buying a second hub or stitching in a third-party tool. For a UAE business that is a structural cost of choosing HubSpot, not a footnote.
The Meta side of the bill is identical on both platforms, since WhatsApp's per-message fees belong to Meta, not your CRM. We broke those down in What the WhatsApp Business API Actually Costs in the UAE.
Zoho's home-ground advantage
Zoho has been building a UAE footprint that HubSpot simply does not have. In January 2026 it announced data centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, certified by the Dubai Electronic Security Centre, which matters if you handle patient records, government work, or clients who ask where their data physically sits. The company says its local investments have reached more than 7,000 UAE businesses, and it runs a Dubai office with a growing partner network.
Then there is the money. Zoho's partnership with Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism gives new customers holding a Dubai trade licence $1,800 in wallet credits, pitched as a year of Zoho One for a small team. One caveat we flag to everyone: as of mid-2026 the offer's fine print ties eligibility to Zoho's US data centre, so you may have to choose between the free credits and local hosting. Ask Zoho's MEA team directly before you commit, because the terms of these programmes shift.
Now the honest downside, because Zoho has one. Support is the most common complaint we hear, and G2 ratings back it up. When something breaks, responses can be slow, and the interface takes longer to learn than HubSpot's. Our standing advice: take some of the money Zoho saves you and spend a slice of it on a local partner for setup and the first month of hand-holding. You still come out far ahead.
Where HubSpot earns its price
If your business grows through content and inbound enquiries, HubSpot Professional is a better machine than anything Zoho offers out of one box. Email marketing, landing pages, forms, campaign attribution and the CRM share one database and one interface, and its reporting on what actually generated a deal is the cleanest we have used. Zoho can assemble a similar stack from its own apps, but "assemble" is the operative word. Expect integration work.
The other argument for HubSpot is adoption. The single most common way a CRM fails is that salespeople stop filling it in (the unglamorous truth is that a CRM your team updates daily beats a technically superior one they avoid). HubSpot's interface wins that fight more often. If your team has already rejected one CRM rollout, that history should weigh heavily here.
Who does this describe in practice? B2B service firms publishing content regularly, companies selling well beyond the GCC, and teams with a dedicated marketer. If that is you and the budget absorbs AED 25,000-plus a year without pain, buy HubSpot Professional and stop second-guessing it.
The verdict by business type
Real estate brokerages: Zoho, usually. Portal leads from Property Finder and Bayut arrive through APIs that need developer work on either platform, agents live on WhatsApp, and per-seat costs multiply fast across an agent roster.
Clinics and aesthetics: Zoho, with care. Appointment flows and WhatsApp reminders fit naturally, and local data hosting is a genuine advantage for patient information. Budget for a partner to configure it properly.
Trading and e-commerce companies: Zoho, and here it is not close, because Zoho Books sits on the FTA's approved tax software list and the ecosystem is preparing for the UAE's 2027 e-invoicing mandate. We covered that in Picking a CRM That Won't Fumble Your UAE VAT Invoices.
Professional services firms running real inbound marketing: this is HubSpot's home turf, and the one category where we recommend it more often than not.
Where we'd start
Start free, whichever way you lean. Zoho's free edition covers three users; HubSpot's free CRM covers two. Run your real pipeline in it for a month before spending a dirham, because the habits your team forms in week two will tell you more than any comparison article, including this one.
And if you would rather someone map this decision to your actual pipeline, tools and team size, talk to us. We will tell you if the free plan is all you need. It happens more often than you would think.
